Obituary

The daughter of David Clarence Haymes and Esther Myrtle "Chic' Parker Haymes, Juanita "Skeet" Hicks was born at Leon, OK on January 4, 1930. She passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta, OK, at the age of 86.

A resident of Love County all of her life, Skeet was a homemaker. She and James Weldon Hicks were married in Gainesville, TX on June 8, 1946, and he preceded her in death on February 5, 2008. Skeet enjoyed sewing, working in her yard and flower gardens, and also cleaning her house and car. She was an active member of the Jimtown Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronnie Hicks; three sisters; and a brother.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Jim Householder of Ardmore, OK and Cindy and Jeff McGee of Wynnewood, OK; three grandchildren, Chris and Christie Householder of Dickson, OK, Melanie Householder of Ardmore, and Shanna and J.W Blankinship of Tuttle, OK; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Duane and Shirley Hicks of Marietta; and special extended family, Tim and Mary Ellen Johnston of Jimtown.

Serving as casket bearers are Jeff McGee, Jim Householder, Chris Householder, Jordan Longoria, J.W. Blankinship, and Steve Hicks. Honorary bearers are Duane Hicks and Tim Johnston.
