Juan Medina Diaz, 71, of Marietta, OK passed away on June 9, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born March 30, 1951 in Rayon, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Guadalupe (Medina) and Eligio Diaz.
Juan grew up in Mexico and relocated to Marietta in 1970. He worked for the Cookie Factory for many years as a Line Supervisor. He married his bride Asuncion Martinez on December 1, 1972. Juan played baseball in Mexico and was a huge fan of the Texas Rangers. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing, spending time outdoors, fishing, but most of all taking his family on trips and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to carry on his memory are his wife Asuncion Diaz of the home; children, Perla McGahan of Marietta and Juan Diaz, Jr. of Marietta; brothers, Priciliaño Diaz of Mexico, Eligio Diaz of Mexico, Nestor Diaz of Madill, OK, Pedro Diaz of Madill, Felipe Diaz and wife Inez of Mead, OK, and Grabriel Diaz and wife Juanita of Houston, TX; sisters, Jacinta Avalos of Mexico, and Vicenta Diaz of Mexico; grandchildren, Jase McGahan, Brittney Metcalf, Olivia Metcalf, Devyn Peery, Marissa Peery, and Mariah Peery; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Juan was preceded in death by infant son, Juan Carlos Diaz; and brothers, Juventio Diaz, and Antonio Diaz.
Funeral mass for Juan will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in the Good Shepard Catholic Church, Marietta with Father Oby Zunmas officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta. Viewing will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday with the rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Casket bearers are Devyn Peery, Rey Martinez, Francisco Martinez, Jase McGahan, Freddy Martinez, and Bartolo Martinez, Jr. Honorary bearers are Reyes Martinez, Bartolo Martinez, Sr., Beto Tello, and Gabriel Diaz.
