Joe
Willis
October 7, 1966 – December 13, 2024
Joe Willis, or as most knew him, Joe Bob, age 58, of Marietta, Oklahoma, passed away on December 13, 2024.
Joe was born on October 7, 1966, in Phoenix, Arizona, the son of Jerry and Joann (Morris) Willis. Joe was married to Tanya Manning, who preceded him in death earlier this year.
Joe had a lifelong love for the outdoors, and his passion for hunting defined many of his happiest moments. He especially cherished the camaraderie of deer camp, the excitement of tracking game, and the peaceful mornings and evenings he spent in the woods. Many of you will fondly remember Joe's enthusiasm as he shared scouting camera photos, planned his next hunt, and staked his claim on "the big one." Whether it was a weekend in the hut or a quick trip to the woods, Joe loved the hunt, but even more, he loved the people who joined him. Those memories—filled with laughter, stories, and shared victories—will live on in the hearts of those who hunted alongside him.
Beyond his love of the woods, Joe had a gift for tinkering, fixing, and building. Whether repairing something around the house, helping with a loved one's project, or creating something new, Joe's ingenuity and determination were evident in everything he did. Always ready to lend a hand—be it advice, a tool, or his time—Joe's helpful nature and willingness to pitch in defined how deeply he cared for others.
Of all his passions, family was the heart of Joe's life, and his grandchildren were his greatest source of pride and joy. He lit up with happiness anytime they visited. Whether it was attending their events, sharing stories, or simply spending time together, Joe poured his heart into being there for them. Joe's love for his grandchildren was unconditional. They will forever treasure the time they shared with their Papa.
Joe's memory is carried on by his father, Jerry Willis of Marietta, Oklahoma; his children, Jeremy Willis and wife Alyssa of Sherman, Texas, Amber Hess and husband Chad of Gainesville, Texas, Ethan Willis and wife BaLee of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Michael Manning and wife Samantha of Overbrook, Oklahoma, and Nikki Davis of Leon, Oklahoma; his siblings, Dana Willis of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Willis of Marietta, Oklahoma, and Debbie Coley and husband Kevin of Wilson, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Hagen Taylor, Holdyn Willis, Raylan Willis, Jensen Willis, Hudson Hess, Tyler Graham and wife Bailey, Cassidy Johnson, Lindsey Graham, Jacee Arthur, Jordyn Metcalf, Bailey Perrin, and Dakota Perrin; his great-grandchildren: Blaklee Johnson, Harper Graham, Donnie Graham, and Baylin Grace Knight, who is due to be here soon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Preceding Joe in death were his beloved wife, Tanya Manning; his mother, Joann Willis; his aunt, Mary Cooper; best friend Roy McKelvey, and cousin Gary Don Willis.
Casket bearers will be Justin Nielsen, Mark Anthony Payne, Adrien Wright, Nick Chill, Ricky Graham and Casey Littlefield.
A time of visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 East Main Street, Marietta. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, December 19, 2:00 P.M., at the Enville Community Church, officiated by Rev. Don Keizor. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta.
Joe will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his unmatched joy in hunting, his talent for building and fixing things, and above all, his deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the countless memories of laughter, hard work, and heartfelt moments he shared with those he loved.
