Jesse James
Rhoades
July 19, 2003 – January 8, 2025
Jesse James Rhoades was born July 19, 2003, in Oklahoma City, OK to Ronald Glenn and Sherry Michelle (Holland) Rhoades. He passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Lake Dallas, TX at the age of 21.
Jesse grew up in Burneyville, OK, and graduated from Turner High School in 2022. He later attended Oklahoma State University IT in Okmulgee, OK, where he graduated with an associate degree in applied science (high voltage line technician) in 2024. He also received a scholastic achievement of Magna Cum Laude while attending OSU IT. His education led him to a position with OnCor Electrical Division Fort Worth North Distribution. He was currently living in Corral City, TX.
Jesse's Love County upbringing led him to a true country lifestyle. He enjoyed riding 4-wheelers with Kolby, Payton, Devin and Jake at the river, or going hunting with Trey. He loved ducks and wanted to build a duck pond oasis. He loved playing video games, or being with his two dogs, Peanut and Vince.
Growing up, he really liked Thomas the Train, and eventually playing Mario Kart and other Mario games. He loved building Lego sets and Marvel comics and their characters and movies based on them. He enjoyed watching any movies which were made by or starring Adam Sandler, especially Happy Gilmore.
Jesse's favorite season was winter, and it brought him the most joy when it snowed. He would also cherish his time riding with Mema Francis and Papa Carroll in their Camaro.
Jesse was a part of the Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed box car racing. He was active with 4-H, where he participated in shooting sports, and was also active with the FFA. Jesse had also played a couple of years of basketball and baseball. He was a member of the Jimtown Baptist Church.
Jesse went on his first date with Brookelyn on December 3, 2023. They went to the AMC Theater in Ardmore and watched Thanksgiving. He really loved spending time and living his life with her, so much that he planned to propose to her in May of this year. He loved messing with her. He would turn up the radio all the way in his truck and roll the windows down to bother her. He loved her with his whole heart.
Jesse is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frances Flatt and John Holland and an uncle, Matthew Troy "Bo" Metcalf.
Those left to cherish Jesse's memory are his fiancé, Brookelyn Mandrigues of Corral City, TX; parents, Ronald Glenn and Sherry Michelle Rhoades of Burneyville; brother, Frank Rhoades and wife Hailey of Burneyville; sister, Cheyenne Rhoades and fiancé Colin Langston of Marietta; grandparents, Gene and Sharon Rhoades of Burneyville and Carroll Flatt of Leon, OK; and numerous family and friends.
