Janath (Jan) Ann Stringer, 75 of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Family Care Center in Kingston. She was born on February 29, 1940 in Heron Lake, Minnesota to the late Garland Peterson and Alva Rasmussen Peterson. Jan married at a young age and had 3 children and later married Donald Stringer on July 9, 1962 in Brooking, South Dokata and they had 2 daughters. They lived in Wisconsin for a short time before moving to Minnesota where they owned two cafes. They moved back to Wisconsin before moving to Kingston in 1988. Jan loved her family, doing crafts, growing plants and flowers and cooking and baking. She made great pies. She worked at several restaurants in Madill, Kingston and the Buncombe Creek area. Jan never met a stranger and had many friends in this area. She is survived by: Husband: Don Stringer, Kingston, Oklahoma Children: Bill Faughn, Amery, Wisconsin Dawn Meyerhofer, Mt. Airy, North Carolina Dona Johnson and husband Dan, Amery, Wisconsin 14 Grandchildren 30 Great Grandchildren Brother: Dale Peterson, Rochert, Minnesota Sister: Joan Nelson, Kingston, Oklahoma Many Nieces and Nephews Jan was preceded in death by 2 daughters; Cynthia Buher and Lori Santillian, a brother; Dave Peterson and a son in-law; Bob Meyerhofer, a brother in-law; Norm Nelson and a sister in-law; Barbie Peterson.
