Jan Nell McCarthy, 67, of Ardmore, OK, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022. Her journey in life began in Gainesville, TX on February 26, 1955, the daughter of Pauline (Harris) and Winston Thomas "W.T." Warthen, Sr.

Jan grew up in Marietta, OK and was a graduate of the Marietta High School Class of 1973. After high school, she moved to Dallas and attended business school. Jan worked in the banking industry and at the Dallas Cowboys Country Club. She lived in Dallas many years before she married and moved around to several different states before settling in Slidell, LA. Then in 1995 she returned to this area, living in Ardmore. She retired from Ardmore Walmart as a cashier. She enjoyed many things in life such as cross stitching, crocheting, drawing, her pets, and watching the Dallas Cowboys play football. Jan was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.

Jan is survived by brother, Winston Warthen and wife Sue of Marietta, OK; sister, Paula Bench and husband Charles of Ardmore; and brother-in-law, Roy Wickware of Marietta. Two nieces, Mischelle Brown & Miranda Fincher and six nephews, Todd Wickware, Brian Warthen, Aric Wickware, Devin Wickware, Matthew Bench, and Kevin Wickware; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great niece; and three great-great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Gale Wickware.
