James Weldon Woody, 82, of Mannsville, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at his home in Mannsville.  He was born on June 20, 1941, in Duncan, Oklahoma to the late Carl Leroy Woody and Loetta Davis Woody.  James was raised in Duncan where he graduated from Empire High School and he later attended Draughon Business College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He married Reba Carol Edwards on March 18, 1960, in Mannsville.  Over the years James worked for BS&B in Gene Autry, the 1st National Bank in Ardmore, the Bank of Johnston County in Tishomingo, and retiring from 1st National Bank in Altus, Oklahoma.  He was an active member of the Mannsville 1st Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, served as past church treasurer and deacon.  James also served as deacon for 1st Baptist Church in Snyder, Oklahoma.  He served on the Mannsville School Board, volunteered for the Mannsville Fire Dept and Rural Water Dist. #2 Board Member.  James was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Whatever he did, he did it with all his heart.

Sister: Faye Bauch, Duncan, Oklahoma

James was preceded by his parents, 1 son; James Eric Woody, brother; Leroy Woody, sisters; Irene Woody, Joan Strawn, and Patsy Koch, 1 nephew; Billy Strawn and 1 niece; Nancy Bauch.

Casket Bearers: Dan Childs, Richard King, Robin Schoonover, Don Scruggs, John Wright, Caleb Wright, and Colton Barnes.
