James began this life April 13, 1951, in Wauwatosa, WI the son of Robert Ralph and Mary Ann (Pecoraro) Meisel. After high school, he served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He served in the 31st Medical Group and was decorated with the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He also received a Unit Citation and was awarded Sharpshooter. James lived in various cities all over the country for many years. He had recently moved to Oklahoma to be closer to family. James had the unique hobby of constructing and maintaining flight simulators. He spent countless hours flying different aircraft on simulators.

James was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a daughter, Darian Meisel of Los Angeles, CA; one grandson; brother, Dennis Meisel of Montgomery, WI; sisters, Angie Vaughan of Wausau, WI, LeeAnn Furrh of Ardmore, OK, Joyce Anderson of Green Lake, WI, and Mary Synkelma of Ringle, WI.

Casket bearers are Joshua Meyer, Eric Meyer, and the United States Army Funeral Detail.
