James Leland Hice, of Thackerville, OK, was born on May 16, 1937, to Steve Thomas and Clemmie Odell (Taff) Hice. He passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in North Richland Hills, TX, at the age of 88.

James worked as a residential carpenter and enjoyed raising all breeds of birds, including chickens, doves, cockatiels, canaries, parakeets, and even a couple of peacocks.

James is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Ann Hice, and his sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Nick Nichols.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sheri Denise Connell of North Richland Hills and Teri Dawn Dunnam and husband Brian of New Braunfels, TX, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 24, at the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Pastor Joe Patterson officiating. Services are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Marietta, OK.
