James Paul Carlile

James Paul Carlile 76 of Madill, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Brookside Nursing Center in Madill.

He was born on May 9, 1950, in Marietta, Oklahoma. James was raised in Marietta before later making his home in Ardmore, Oklahoma, where he built a long and respected career with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). He faithfully served with ODOT from 1982 until his retirement in 2007 as a field inspector and transportation technician. He was known as a hardworking and dependable man who took pride in his work and the friendships he made along the way.

James was a religious man whose faith was an important part of his life. He found strength and guidance in his beliefs and lived with quiet conviction. He enjoyed the simple things in life and will be remembered for his steady spirit and kind heart.

He is survived by his son, Edward William Carlile of Greenville, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carolyn Cassidy.
