J. A. (Bun) Sparlin, 88 of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at his home in Madill. He was born on July 18, 1925 in Madill to the late Horace Bertwell Sparlin and Jewell Odell Robinette Sparlin. He was raised in Madill and later joined the United States Army and served as a paratrooper. Bun married Rowena Harris on May 17, 1947 in Denison, Texas. He owned and operated Sparlin Hot Oil Service, farmed and ranched and was the 1st Lake Patrolman in Lake Texoma. Bun enjoyed playing bridge, fishing, working in the yard and traveling. He is survived by: Wife: Rowena Sparlin, Madill, Oklahoma Children: Butch Sparlin and wife Patti, Madill, Oklahoma Martha Sparlin, Madill, Oklahoma 2 Grandchildren Hardy Rogers, Madill, Oklahoma Alexis Williams, College Station, Texas Sister: Sue Nelson, Madill, Oklahoma Sally Nan Lacy, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Bun was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Judy Sparlin.
