Horace Ray
Markum
January 19, 1936 – March 25, 2025
Horace Ray Markum, 89, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born on January 19, 1936, in Decator, Texas to the late Clyde Timothy Markum and Mattie Elizabeth Rice Markum. Ray was raised in Decatur and moved to Sampson Park, Texas when he was a boy. He married Nancy Elvena Nabors on September 4, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2022. Ray worked as a Golf Course superintendent and architect for Rivercrest Country Club, Worth Hills and Rockwood Park in Fort Worth. He later served as a Licensed minister with the Assemblies of God for 60 years and pastored in Little Rock Arkansas and Benbrook Texas. He and Nancy served missionaries to Ghana west Africa. Ray enjoyed playing and singing gospel music and was known as "Preacher" at the local Blue Grass festivals. He loved his family, he was a wonderful Pastor, husband, dad, brother, uncle and grandfather.
He is survived by:

Tandy Renee Guenther, and husband Brent
8 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren 1 Great Great Grandchild
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers and 4 sisters
