Henry Lafayette Cummins, Sr. was born October 24, 1940 in Checotah, OK the son of Aaron and Rhoda Howe Cummins. He passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in Mercy Hospital Ardmore at the age of 75. Mr. Cummins had been a resident of this area most of his life. He and Louise Howard were married in Marietta on April 20, 1965. Henry worked for the U.S. Forestry Service and then was a transport driver for Texaco and Getty for which he received numerous safe driving awards. In addition he was CLEET certified. Henry also served in the Army National Guard based in Ardmore. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Otis Cummins; three sisters, Wanda Cummins, Wilma Cummins-Burke, and Claudell Stephens; and a granddaughter, Kayla Cummins. Survivors include his wife, Louise of the home in Davis; two sons, Michael Cummins and Henry Cummins, Jr., both of Lone Grove, OK; two daughters, Carolyn McGehee of Ardmore and Marilyn Cummins-Hawkins of Hughes Springs, TX; two brothers, James Carl Cummins of the Greenville Community and Aaron R. Cummins of Springdale, AR; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Williams of Reagan, OK, Jacob Cummins of Lone Grove, Tyler Clemons of Ponca City, OK, Layton Hawkins and Alaina Doss of Ringling, OK, Landon and Hailee Hawkins of Burneyville, OK, Levi Hawkins and Layn Hawkins of Hughes Springs, Nathan and Bobbie Peery of Davis, Bryan Peery of Ardmore, and Thurman Cummins-Ramon of Leon, OK; and nine great-grandchildren, A.J. Williams of Reagan, Bryson Hawkins of Ringling, Remington Hawkins and Laiklyn Hawkins of Burneyville, Saige Peery and Aurora Peery of Davis, Addisyn Peery, Talyn Peery and Hailyn Peery of Ardmore.
