Obituary

Hazel A. Gwin, 95, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at her home in Madill.  She was born on October 12, 1927, in Dickens, Texas to the late James Willie (Rusty) Edwards and Cleo Valentine Hawley Edwards.  Hazel was raised in West Texas and later moved to Fort Worth where she ran a secondhand store.  She moved to Oklahoma and in 1954 she moved to Madill where she lived the rest of her life.  Hazel worked at the Madill Pants Factory, and she was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed making China dolls, sewing doll clothes, ceramics, and doing upholstery.

Hazel is survived by:

Mattie Dykens, Derby, Kansas

Grandchildren:                                    Jason Lloyd Hightower and wife Shana

Justin Bishop Sluiter and wife Amy

Great Grandchildren:                          Montana Rain Hightower, Gypsy River Sluiter and Nani Serenity Sluiter

Brother, sisters and several cousins.

Several nieces and nephews

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Clarence Lloyd Loffer "Lum" and Floyd Ralph Gwin, sister: Emmie Donahue and brother; J R Edwards.
