Gloria Lovetta McCarroll was born March 30, 1932 at Ran, OK to Atwood McCarroll and Alice Newsome McCarroll. She went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Marietta's Lake Country Nursing Center.

Gloria attended grade school at Pearl Smallwood School in Ran, and graduated from high school at Douglass High, Marietta. Upon graduation she relocated to Oklahoma City where she attended Hill's Business School. She resided in Seattle, WA for a period of time, and returned to Oklahoma City where she lived until her health failed at which time she moved to Marietta in 2012. As a child and youth, she attended Bethel Union Baptist Church and later in life united with Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

Gloria was an excellent secretary for many years and received numerous awards, certificates of achievement, and special recognition for her secretarial skills. Her employment included colleges and universities, federal and state government. She was extremely knowledgeable and took every opportunity to enhance her education. She was an avid fisher and loved any activity or game that would require one to think and reason.

Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Vernis, William, Willie James, and Cecil McCarroll; and six sisters, Alberta Love, Rosavell McCarroll, Ruby Talley, Lillian Ruff, Johnnie Green, and June Evelyn Frederick.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brother and sister-in-law, Clentis and Virginia McCarroll of Marietta; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Gloria loved her family dearly and considered herself the guardian of each of them. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

Serving as casket bearers are Danny Anderson, Garland McCarroll, Richard McCarroll, Keith McCarroll, Willie James McCarroll, Jr., and Lawrence McCarroll. Assisting as flower girls are Sharon Anderson, Alma McCarroll, Barbara McCarroll, Twyla Janee, Cynthia Carter, and Shona Anderson. Honorary casket bearers are Jesse James Ruff, Craig McCarroll, Michael McCarroll, and Cecil McCarroll.
