Gerald Lee
Radde, Dvm
June 23, 1944 – March 3, 2026
Dr. Gerald Lee Radde, 81-year-old Marietta, OK resident, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Mercy Health Love County Hospital in Marietta. The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta. At 7:00 p.m., Dr. Alton Fannin will be offering a few words of comfort and encouragement.
Gerald Lee Radde began this life on June 23, 1944, in Nevada, MO the son of Norman and Betty (Sisney) Radde. Gerald graduated from high school in Harrisonville, MO and later attended veterinary school at the University of the Philippines. While practicing veterinary medicine, Gerald decided to share his love for the practice by teaching veterinary medicine at Mississippi State College from 1990 – 1995. In 1996, Gerald moved to Marietta where he started Equine Veterinary Medicine. Here he doctored animals from all over the area and trained his own team of performance horses. Gerald loved horses and spent a great deal of time studying and staying up to date on the latest trends and treatments to maximize performance and recovery. In addition, he was always passionate about sharing his knowledge with veterinary students and those that may have a slight interest in getting started in the field. Gerald retired in the fall of 2025, ending more than 30 years of veterinary care in Marietta.
In his younger years, Gerald loved hunting. As time went by, his passion shifted more toward an interest in talking about guns as opposed to using them. Gerald was also quite the guitar player and loved spending evenings strumming away after a long day. He was passionate about work, but he also took time to get away. Gerald and Lenna spent several years as a part of a touring group that rode motorcycles across the United States and Canada.
He will be remembered as a devout Christian man that attended the First Baptist Churches both in Marietta and Ardmore. Gerald built his foundation on faith and was willing to share that with anyone in need.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Tyler Radde; and a sister, Linda Carol Radde.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lenna (Sullivan) Radde of the home; sons, Sheridan Radde and wife Annette of Omaha, NB and Matt Radde and wife Desi of Tishomingo, OK; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn Radde of Omaha, Connor Radde of Lincoln, NB, Blake Radde of Stillwater, OK, and Kailey Radde of Stillwater.
