When he retired, he worked as a mechanic in the motor pool for the Ft. Worth Supply Depot at the General Service Administration Federal Center. He also worked for a few privately owned mechanic shops over the years. If it could be fixed, Floyd could fix it!! He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, playing his keyboard and switching the beats, gardening, and watching westerns.  Floyd could be heard singing in the doctors' offices while waiting to be seen.  He was a member of the All Faith Christian Church in Marietta, where he sang and played his guitar.
