Obituary

Emily Gale Taylor of Ardmore, OK, was born on May 28, 1939, in Love County, OK, to William and Marie (Clifton) McAnally. She passed from this life on Saturday morning, May 2, 2026, at an Ardmore nursing facility.

Emily graduated from Greenville High School and later married the love of her life, Carl Ray Taylor, on April 20, 1957, in Ardmore. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2002.

Prior to returning to Greenville in 1979, they had spent approximately 20 years in northern Idaho. Upon her return, she worked for many years as a cook for the Greenville school system. She was known for her love of cooking, both professionally and at home, where she took great joy in preparing meals for her family. Emily also enjoyed spending time outdoors planting flowers and was a talented seamstress. When her health allowed, she attended First United Methodist Church in Marietta, OK. She moved to Ardmore in 2003.

Emily is survived by her daughters, Karen Taylor and Kathy Lewis, both of Ardmore, and Karla Bell and husband David of Marietta; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Connie Marion of Goldsby, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Ray Taylor; her brother, Charles McAnally; and her sisters, Ann Sullivan and Lou Barner.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 7th, at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, with Rev. Dr. Stephen P. Davis officiating.
