Derek Wayne Thomas, 43, of Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.  He was born on July 30, 1981, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Paul Dean Thomas and Rhonda Jean Talley Thomas.  Derek was raised in Purcell, Oklahoma and graduated from Purcell High School in 2000.  He later attended OCCC in Oklahoma City.  Derek also lived in Norman, Oklahoma and Dallas, Texas before moving to South Carolina where he has lived for the past 20 years.  He enjoyed fishing, spending time with friends and family and he loved animals. Derek was loved by his many friends and extended family.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Derek was preceded in death by his cousin; Ginger Owens, uncle; Terry Thomas, cousin; Tammy McCurry, aunt; Beverly McCurry and grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Talley

Memorial Services will be August 24, 2024, at 7370 D Street, Kingston, Oklahoma, from 2:00 – 6:00 pm, under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
