Dennis Wayne Rambo of Marietta, OK was born September 3, 1958 in Ardmore, OK, the son of Eugene and Janet Lorne Rambo. He passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his residence in Marietta at the age of 56. Mr. Rambo grew up in Marietta, later moving to Tennessee and Wright City and then returned to Marietta to make his home. A 1976 graduate of Marietta High School, he enjoyed participating in all sports, especially football, as well as band, choir and Sunshine Gang. He also was selected to attend Boys State. Following graduation, Dennis attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant for two years at which time he sang with the Chorvettes and then attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville for 1 ½ years. Mr. Rambo also served in the U.S. Navy from August 1984 to February 1986. At the time of his death, he was employed as a truck driver for Industrial Warehouse Service. He and Barbara Clauson were married in Marietta on June 4, 2014. Mr. Rambo enjoyed swimming, camping and bowling and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Affectionately known as "Mr. Clean," Dennis was a very punctual individual who did not procrastinate. He knew the Bible well. Dennis was a former member and deacon of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Wright City. He currently was a member and Sunday School teacher at Marietta's Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In addition, he was very involved in the Mt. Zion Brotherhood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalind Essie Rambo. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Rambo of the home; father and mother, Eugene and Janet J. Rambo of Marietta; son, Darrien Eugene Rambo of Wright City; daughter, Janetta La'Shay Rambo of Wright City; mother of his children, Patsy Rambo of Wright City; brother, Kerry Rambo of Mesquite, TX; two sisters and brother-in-law, Annette Lawson and husband, Rev. Paul Lawson, and Danette Rambo, all of Mesquite; stepson, David De'Shaun Johnson of Wright City; step-granddaughter; nieces, LaKeisha Lawson and Darline Rambo of Mesquite; and nephew, Jeremy Rambo, also of Mesquite. Casket bearers will be Kerry Rambo, Jeremy Rambo, Nelson Rambo, Charles Rambo, Michael Willis, Brent Coleman and Richie Coleman. Honorary bearers are Deacon Eugene Cubit, Granville Jett, Billy Rambo, Jr. and Richard Rambo.
