Obituary

Deborah Gale "Debbie" Harter-Brown, 70-year-old Thackerville, OK resident, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, while surrounded by her adoring family at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville with Johnny Reed officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta, OK.

Debbie began this life on April 23, 1955, in Gainesville, TX the daughter of Shurburne "Paul" and Wanda (Stricklan) Walsworth. She graduated from Thackerville High School with the Class of 1974. Later in life, Debbie married William Brown on February 22, 1997, at a ceremony in Thackerville. The two had celebrated more than 28 years together.

Debbie was a devout Christian woman who always tried to make sure her children and grandchildren were going down the right path, both spiritually and literally, as she was known to "track" them on her 360 app quite often. Debbie cared deeply about her family and cherished family get togethers, especially during July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She liked playing bingo and taking an occasional trip to the casino. Debbie also spent countless hours painting with her friend Lesa. She also loved to pamper herself from time to time and go shopping or make a trip to the nail salon for manis and pedis. In addition, she would end a day of shopping by sipping on a margarita from Villa Grande in Gainesville. Debbie seemed to be on the go quite a bit, but she always took time to watch the OU Sooners play. And typically, she would recoup from the bustle of a busy day with a well-deserved nap.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Wanda Gale and by a brother, Ronnie Walsworth. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, William of the home; daughters, Deanna "Dee Dee" Mayo and husband Cliff Thompson of Davis, OK and Charlene "Charlie" Jackson of Thackerville; step-sons John Brown of LaSalle, UT and James Brown of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, ReAnna Linehan and husband Kayson of Weatherford, TX, Kiana Meler and husband Grant of Thackerville, Nathaniel Sanchez of Maricopa, AZ, Parker Jackson of Fort Worth, TX, and SaraJane Mayo of Thackerville; great grandson, Waylon Meler; two step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers are Nathaniel Sanchez, Parker Jackson, Kayson Linehan, Grant Meler, David Jones, and Cliff Thompson. Honorary bearers are Mike Brown and Donathan Brown.

The family requests that attendees wear purple to the service in Debbie's memory.
