David Ray Terry

David Ray Terry, 78, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026. He was born on September 1, 1948, in Portales, New Mexico, to the late Ray Terry and Lillian Wilson Terry. After graduating from high school from Monahans High School in 1967, David proudly joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served for several years. David moved to Madill in 1992 and worked in administration for Texoma Peanut Company for more than 20 years. On June 21, he and Patty Lynn Matthews celebrated 52 years of marriage. David enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and especially attending his grandchildren’s events. His family was very important to him, and he cherished the time spent making memories with them.

Krystal Phillips and husband Charles of Kenefic, Oklahoma

Traci Lemons and husband Craig of Malakoff, Texas

Sister: Patty Kim of Ruidoso, New Mexico

17 grandchildren: Maci and Glenn Lanier, Marli Lemons, Gary Cearley, Bobby and Megan Cearley, Kaylee and Christopher Yang, Taylor and Ricky Taylor, Dominik and Hannah Rose, Charles Jr. and Kadence Phillips, Jayce Terry, Blake Phillips, and Blane Phillips.

Great-grandchildren: Jonas Cearley, Navaeh Cearley, Teo Cearley, Keira Cearley, Tucker Cearley, Lincoln Cearley, Korbin Cearley, Dailey Rainn, Cayden Yang, Oaklynn Clinton, Wrenlee Waller, Jazmeryna Rose, Jared Phillips

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son; Deke Cearley and a brother.

David will be remembered and deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
