David Lee Morton, 76-year-old Marietta, OK resident, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at his home. Graveside funeral services for David will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville, OK with Rev. Harold "Bud" Morton, Jr. officiating and Rev. Susan Reedy assisting. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta.

David Lee Morton began this life on August 23, 1947, in Joplin, MO, the son of Rev. Harold "H.D." and Berniece (Gilliam) Morton. David graduated from Thackerville High School with the Class of 1966. He later started his own carpet and flooring business in Marietta that he operated for more than 40 years. David was a musically talented man who loved singing and playing his guitar. He also loved every opportunity he had to visit with family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Christian "Crissy" Morton; brothers, Richard "Chip" Morton and John Timothy "Tim" Morton; and a sister, Bernice "Sissie" Hartman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kim McClinton and husband Johnny of Callisburg, TX, Starla Tipps and partner Dale Meadows of Ponca City, OK, and Gina Sanders and husband Royal of Marietta; sons, Joseph Morton of Thackerville and Tony Wilson and wife Leanne of Denison, TX; brothers, Harold "Bud" Morton, Jr. and wife Marilyn of Conroe, TX and Mark Morton of Dallas, TX; sisters, Joyce Allmon of Pittsburg, KS and Becky Turner of Elmore City, OK; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
