Colette "Letty"
Schilke
July 18, 2020 – August 12, 2024
Heaven has gained another little angel, a beautiful young girl named Colette "Letty" Adele Schilke, of Marietta, OK. Letty was born on July 18, 2020, in Ada, OK to Tanner Gray and Andrew Schilke. She was blessed with an amazing life and loved spending time with her parents on the ranch in Texas. Sadly, on September 4, 2022, everyone's life changed when Letty's adventurous soul wandered into a pond on the ranch. The lack of oxygen in Letty's brain had turned a vibrant child into a warrior who was now fighting for her life. Letty spent the next two years in therapy, spending numerous hours at Fundamentals Therapy in Ardmore, OK and J.D. McCarty Center in Norman, OK. God saw Letty's fighting spirit was giving away, and on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the Mercy Memorial Health Center in Ardmore, OK, at the early age of four, we rejoiced that Letty was now in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.
Before the accident, Letty was full of energy and love. She wanted to be around her horses and dogs and loved playing outside on the ranch and hide and seek with whomever and wherever. If she were not at the ranch, she would often be playing with her Nana and Papa.
Letty leaves behind her loving parents, Tanner Brooke Gray and Andrew James Schilke; brother, Martin Pake Schilke; grandparents, Derrick Gray of Burneyville, OK, Laura Childress of Lone Grove, OK, Holly Bloomberg of Norman, and J.D. Schilke of Imperial, NE; great-grandparents, Janet Sparks of Marietta, Skip and Kathe Martin of Hastings, NE, and Larry and Diann Schilke of Imperial; her best friend, Filly Jade; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Woody Dixon and Kathryn Caldwell, Danny Joe Sparks, and Royce Jay Childress; grandfather, Cody Ray Self; and a cousin, Jessie Wayne Krausnick.
Funeral services to celebrate Letty's life will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta with Brett Alberda officiating. A time of visitation will be Friday, August 16, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta. Letty will get to go to her final place of interment at the Lakeview Cemetery pulled by horses.
Casket bearers will be Derrick Gray, Kevin Hartman, Skip Martin, Larry Schilke, Donnie Caldwell and Wayne Krausnick.
In the spirit of Letty, the family asks that if anyone would like to donate, they would love to have stuffed animals that will be donated to the Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX.
