March 10, 1938 – December 26, 2022
Clifford Wayne West 84, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born on March 10, 1938, in Francis, Oklahoma to the late Cal West and Viola Myrtle Wilson West. After marrying the love of his life Marylynn Gooden West on September 28, 1962, in Ada, Oklahoma they adopted a son in 1966 and name him Roger Dwayne West. Wayne graduated from East Central University and decided to pursue a career in education. He taught and coached sports for most of his life. Wayne began his coaching and teaching career in Ransom, Kansas and later moving to Kingston in 1970 where he was a teacher, coach, and a high school principal until he retired in 1987. Many generations of students over several decades knew him as "Coach West". After retiring he continued to want to help and be a part of the school system, so he became a volunteer and a substitute teacher.
