Claude "Tobe" Muncrief Jr., 81, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Four Seasons Nursing Center in Durant, Oklahoma. Born on November 23, 1942, in Colbert, Oklahoma, Tobe was the beloved son of the late Claude Thomas Muncrief and Alice Lorene Pearce Muncrief.

A lifelong resident of Marshall County, Tobe was deeply rooted in the community he called home. He attended Madill Public Schools and spent his career working with dedication for the Oklahoma State Highway Department until his retirement. Tobe was a man of strong faith, attending Victory Life Church in Durant, where he found comfort and fellowship.

Tobe was known for his love of the open road, particularly enjoying hauling trailers—a pastime that brought him joy and a sense of freedom. He was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, never missing a game and proudly cheering on his favorite team.

He is survived by his longtime love, Clytha Posey of Durant, Oklahoma; his children, Wayland Muncrief, Tammie Muncrief Davis, and Robby Posey; and his grandchildren, Taylor McCool, Christian Davis, Tyler Davis, Mikayla Page Posey, and Riley Posey. He also leaves behind his sister, Wanda Broadway of Ft. Worth, Texas, along with several cherished nieces and nephews. Tobe was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Sonny, Kenneth, Wendyl, Clifford, Ervin, Dean Muncrief, and sisters, Tennie Sneed, and Ruth Peoples.

Tobe's legacy of hard work, faith, and love for his family and community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
