Charles Alan Lancaster was born on November 16, 1940, in Wagoner, OK. He went home to be with Jesus on May 29, 2026, at the age of 85.
Charles served his country with pride, first in the United States Navy and then in the United States Army. After his years in the military, he worked at the NASA tracking station in Corpus Christi, TX. Later, he started his own remodeling company, Lancaster Bros., which he owned and operated for over 20 years.
In 2006, Charles married Carolyn (Donaldson) Lancaster, and the two made their home in Marietta, OK. He became a member of Eastside Baptist Church, teaching adult Sunday School classes and serving in the Wednesday night youth program for many years. At Cross and Crown Ministries, he served faithfully and was a regular member of the Men's Bible Study.
Charles was a man of steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. All who crossed paths with him knew he never met a stranger. He always had a story to tell and a heart to help those around him. A devoted reader, he loved his Bible most of all and was always ready for an encouraging conversation about the Lord. The words of Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 sum up his life well:
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his sister, Lynda Ewing; his three children—Dr. Daniel Boyd Lancaster, of Jackson, TN; Kenneth Alan Lancaster (Carol) of Austin, TX; and Laura Leian Lancaster of Jackson, TN; his grandchildren Ben (Nicole), Jeff (Linnea), Katy (David), Zach (Beth), Karis (Jeremiah), Luke (Brooke), Sam, Zane (Raelen), and Lillian; and his great-grandchildren Grace, Rhys, Caroline, Aden, Luke, Johnny, Woody, Moses, June, Florence, and Malachi; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter-in-law, Holli Lancaster; his parents Robert and Joyce Lancaster; his brothers Gerald, Lonnie, and Raymond; and his sister Saundra McCuan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cross and Crown Ministries; PO Box 307; Marietta, OK 73448.
Services with military honors for Charles will be held at 10:00 A.M, Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Eastside Baptist Church, 107 North Fernwood Avenue, Marietta. Interment will be at the Fort Towson Cemetery in Fort Towson, OK.
Serving as casket bearers will be Ben Lancaster, Luke Lancaster, Sam Lancaster, Steve Lawrence, Joshua Stidham, Mike Parrish, Mark Amos, Michael Gwin and Mike Buxton. Honorary casket bearers are Charles’ grandchildren and the Cross and Crown Men’s Bible Study.
