Carrie Isabell
Frank
May 31, 1935 – October 26, 2024
Carrie Isabell Frank, 89, of Madill Oklahoma passed away on October 26, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family singing her favorite hymnals. She was born on May 31, 1935, to Verg "Red" and Edith Mable Reid Self. Carrie was raised in the Madill area where she attended Madill Public School and graduated in May 1956. Carrie was diagnosed with Tuberculosis when she around 14 years of age, and spent two and a half years in Talihina where she received treatment. The years battling tuberculosis shaped her resilience and character, helping make her into the strong women she became. Those challenging days taught her the value of patience, perseverance, and a closer relationship with the Lord.
Carrie met David Thomas "Tom" Frank, the love of her life, at an ice-skating rink in Dallas. Tom was immediately smitten with Carrie, but she didn't let him win her over easily. After only 5 short months of dating, they realized they found something truly special and wanted to spend the rest of their lives as a married couple. They were married on January 11, 1958, in Dallas Texas. They were happily married for 66 years. Carrie and Tom built their life in Dallas Texas, Artesia New Mexico, Sherman Texas, and finally returning to Madill Oklahoma in 1974.
Carrie had a passion for sewing and quilting, spending countless hours crafting beautiful and intricate quilts. Each one was a labor of love, often made as special gifts for family members to cherish. Carrie also enjoyed being a part of the Marshall County quilting club, where she connected with fellow quilters who shared her love of quilting. Carrie cherished cooking for her precious family, delighting them with her cinnamon rolls, enchilada pie, Thanksgiving dressing and all the other dishes crafted by her gentle hands.
As a pastor's wife, with her quite strength, she brought light, love, and compassion to the church family. She enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School and Sunday School classes.
Her greatest role in life was being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Carrie is survived by her husband David Thomas "Tom" Frank, her children and their spouses: Valerie and Terry Bartee, Dave and Jana Frank, and Rachel and Gary Moore; sixteen grandchildren: Renee and Lynn Richards, Andrew and Rachel Bartee, Melissa and Chaz Cargal, , Christopher and Cheyenne Bartee, Sonya and Brian Campbell, Jordan and Nikki Pryor, Megan and Michael McCarthy, Jennifer and Casey Cook, and Kelsey and Eddie Brown: thirty great-grandchildren: Zachary, Emilie and Trevor, Jacob, Colton and Emilie, Hailey, Kaid, Karringtyn, Jax, Serina, Chloe, Cassidy, Lexi, Brison and Samantha, Stephen and Darla, Hunter and Taya, Hannah, Madelenn, John, Emery, Isabelle, Grady, Jameson, Kove, Daeton, and Bowen: and five great-great grandchildren: Breyer, Shaylei, Jessaleigh, Carsyn, Lindsey, and two more blessings on the way.
