Carolyn Annie Shaw, 86, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

She was born on July 6, 1939, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Glover Griffith and Doris Irene Roberts Griffith, Carolyn was raised in Michigan and later moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 2014, she made her home in Madill, where she spent the remainder of her life surrounded by family and friends.

Carolyn married the love of her life, Oliver Thomas Shaw, on September 20, 1972. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and devotion to one another. They shared many wonderful years of marriage until his passing on July 28, 2012. A gifted homemaker and creative soul, Carolyn found great joy in crocheting and sewing. She was known for her generous spirit, compassionate nature, and willingness to help anyone in need. Family was the greatest blessing of Carolyn's life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Her great-grandchildren brought endless joy to her days, and she delighted in watching them grow. Her grandson, Alex, held a particularly special place in her heart, and the love they shared was a source of great happiness throughout her life. She also cherished the companionship of her faithful dog, Penny, who brought comfort and joy to her later years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lori Boren Mayse and husband, Tony, of Moore, Oklahoma; her grandson, Alex Boren of Madill, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Logan Boren and Kali Boren; and her beloved dog, Penny.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Glover and Doris Griffith; her husband, Oliver Thomas Shaw; her brother, Bill Griffith; and her sister, Marian Griffith.

Carolyn will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, compassion, and love that will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
