Carole Rickets
Martin
June 9, 1944 – October 24, 2025
Carole Ayres Rickets Martin was born June 9, 1944 in Ardmore, OK to Don and Ruby (Ayres) Rickets. She passed from this life on October 24, 2025.
Carole was a graduate of Ardmore High School, Class of 1962. She met her high school sweetheart, Larry Martin on a blind date and they were married September 5, 1964. They soon began to make their home across ten US Army bases throughout the United States. They welcomed Larry King Jr in 1967 and Sean Alexander in 1970. Carole was a faithful and talented homemaker and always made Larry and their boys her priority. She enjoyed working in thrift stores on base and was very artistic. She loved to sew, paint, needlepoint, crochet, cross stitch, stain glass, as well as help the boys with Boy Scout projects. She made sure both her boys earned their Eagle Scout ranks.
After Larry's retirement in 1986, they settled in Larry's hometown of Marietta, OK. She worked at Barkley Collection in Ardmore for many years. She fell in love with genealogy and was a member of twenty-one patriotic/genealogical organizations, including Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, United Daughters of the Confederacy, The Huguenot Society, Daughters of the Indian Wars, and National Society of Colonial Daughters and many others. She volunteered at the Greater Southwest Historical Museum and was a gifted
researcher. She loved helping others with membership applications and genealogy research. She loved the Lord and enjoyed her ladies Bible study group.
Carole is preceded in death by her parents, older sister Nancy Rickets Snow, and younger brother Joe Ben Rickets III.
Carole is survived by her husband of 61 years; two sons, King Martin and Ashly of Marietta, and Sean Martin and Liz of Cushing, OK; grandchildren, Kora Humble, Logan Martin and Brody Martin; brothers-in-law, Joe and Linda Martin of Marietta and George Snow of Wilson.
