Carmen Jessie Scott

Carmen Jessie Scott, 76, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Carrus Health Hospital in Sherman, Texas. Carmen was born on April 23, 1950, in Madill to the late Clifford Self and Charlotta Ward Self. She was raised in the Madill area and attended Madill High School, graduating in 1968. She later attended Murray State College and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Carmen dedicated most of her life to her work as a paralegal. She worked for Little Law Firm in Madill, for most of her life. She was a hardworking and dedicated woman who took great pride in her work. Carmen was affiliated with the Baptist faith. Her faith and her family were very important to her. She especially loved teaching her grandchildren about Jesus and always had a kind word to say to those around her. She enjoyed having dinner with her family, playing Skip-Bo and dominoes with good friends and family, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whatever they wanted. Carmen was an avid animal lover and enjoyed doing mind puzzles. She loved to work and was happiest when she was spending time with the people and animals she loved. Carmen will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, generous heart, love for her family, love of animals, and the many ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her kindness, wisdom, and love for Jesus will remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Carmen is survived by her sons, Marc Scott and wife Dawn of Lebanon, Oklahoma, and Christopher Scott of Kingston, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Brittany Coffman, Randall Rainer, Justyn Rainer, Savana Rainer, Jadyn Scott, Cliff Scott, and LyllaAnn Scott; numerous great-grandchildren; and her sister, Brenda Richardson and husband Micheal of Ardmore, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Carrie Waynette Scott; and her grandson, Colton Rainer.

Casket bearers will be Marc Scott, Christopher Scott, Cliff Scott, William Garrison, Donnie Self, and Dennis Self.
