Brenda Dell Patton 74, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born on September 17, 1951, in Ida, Louisiana, to the late Elmer Edward Thomas and LaVerne Ramage Thomas. Brenda spent her younger years growing up in Arizona before eventually making Oklahoma her home, living in Ardmore, Powell, and later the Kingston area. She worked as a waitress for many years, where her warm smile and friendly personality made lasting impressions on those she met. Later, she continued her caring nature by working as a home health aide, compassionately helping those who needed her most. She was a member of Open Range Cowboy Church in Madill and found comfort in her faith and church family. Family was the center of Brenda’s life. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her joy. Whether she was preparing a favorite meal in the kitchen, sharing stories, or simply enjoying their company, Brenda made those around her feel loved and welcomed. She had a generous heart, a kind spirit, and a love for caring for others that was evident throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, Mark Slay and wife Traci of Madill, Oklahoma, and Nikki Cloyd and Kyle of Caddo, Oklahoma; her brother, Royce Buddy Thomas of Ravia, Oklahoma; her beloved grandchildren, Bailey Slay, Trey Patton, Sophie Hockersmith, Brylee Hockersmith, Holden Hockersmith, Kutter Cloyd, Kylee Cloyd, Cedar Cloyd, and Cash Cloyd; her great-grandchildren, Saige Clements, Zalen, Henslee, and Brantly; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Edward Thomas and LaVerne Ramage Thomas, and her sisters, Vicky Mauldin and Francis Barnes.
