Bob "Bobby"
Edward Sanders
December 13, 1958 – May 20, 2024
Bob Edward Sanders, affectionately known as "Bobby," passed away at the age of 65 on May 20, 2024. He was born on December 13, 1958, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Charles Edward Sanders and Virginia Jane Wilson Sanders. Growing up in Ada, Bobby attended school there before embarking on a journey that would shape his life in meaningful ways.
After joining the National Guard, Bobby served his country for several years. In 1982, he made a move to Soldier Creek on Lake Texoma, where he found his niche working as a resort manager for several years. It was during this time that he immersed himself in the community, becoming a dedicated volunteer for the Caney/Soldier Creek Fire Department. Bobby's commitment to service led him to serve as Chief on two separate occasions, leaving an indelible mark on the department and the lives he touched.
In his leisure time, Bobby found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid Nascar fan and took pleasure in working around the resort, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. However, above all else, Bobby's greatest love was reserved for his daughters. His devotion to Summer Dawn Vondrak and Samantha Kay Sanders was unwavering, and his heart swelled with pride at the mention of his two grandchildren, Danica Alexis Sanders and Juvia Elizabeth Vondrak.
Bobby is survived by his daughters, Summer Dawn Vondrak and husband Dylan, and Samantha Kay Sanders and fiancé Seth Mallett, loving mother, Virginia Jane Sanders, his brother Bill Lynn Sanders and wife Shirley, his sisters Vanessa Jane Sanders Bevel and husband James, and Corona Lou Finley and husband Mike.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Sanders, and one grandchild, Astrid Lynn Mallett. Bobby was also preceded in death by his ex-mother and father-in-law, Marion and H. L. Stone.
