Betty Katherine Ryals, 81, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in Hammond, Louisiana.

She was born on September 9, 1944, to the late George Noah French and Edith Inez Everett French. Betty grew up in Kingston, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Kingston High School.

On October 26, 1963, she married Sammy Levene Ryals in Kingston, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2023. Over the years, they made their home in Lancaster, Texas, and Milburn, Oklahoma, before spending their final years in Denham Springs, Louisiana.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Leanne Wygant and husband Tommy of Denham Springs, Louisiana; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Thomas Ryals, Amber Ryals, Caitlin Ryals, Dawn Ryals, Cassie Wygant, Beau Wygant, Ryals Wygant, and Ryder Wygant; her brother, Bill French and wife Mary of Luella, Texas; and her sisters, Sue Stafford of Calina, Texas, and Benny Tilley of Kingston, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Timothy Neil Ryals; and her sister, Joyce Kenedy.

Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She had a kind and gentle spirit, always putting others before herself and offering a warm smile to everyone she met.
