Betty Louise Chitwood was born July 28, 1938 in Mead, Oklahoma.  She passed away March 1, 2024 at the age of 85.  Her parents were Walter Vaughn and Mamie May (Jones) Vaughn.  They moved to the Oklahoma City area when she was 4 years old, she attended grade school and high school there.

Betty has a daughter Tracina Wilkins.  Betty married Jerry Chitwood in 1980.  She gained three bonus step children, Jeff Chitwood (Jasper, Texas), Susie Swanson (Norman, Oklahoma), and Connie McLemore (Gracemont, Oklahoma). She has several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.  She loved all of them with all her heart.

Betty retired from Western Electric in Midwest City, Oklahoma.  After retirement, they moved to Lake Texoma.  Retirement life brought fishing and cruising in the boat.  As time went on, she found the Lighthouse Methodist Church.  She enjoyed the fellowship with all the ladies.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needle point and knitting.  She was always making something for the kids in Sunday school.  She loved the Lord, and always put him first.

Betty is survived by Jerry Chitwood (husband), Jeff Chitwood (stepson), and Rick and Connie McLemore (stepdaughter), and multiple nieces and nephews.  She is proceeded in death by her parents, sisters, brother-in-laws, stepdaughter, nieces, and nephews.
