Becky Jan Smith, 74, of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Oxford Springs Senior Living Center in Durant. Becky was born on December 5, 1951, in Marshall, Texas, to the late Jack Frasure Hyles and Beverly Joyce Slaughter Hyles. She was raised in Munster, Indiana, where she attended and graduated from high school. Following high school, Becky continued her education at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee. On August 15, 1970, Becky married the love of her life, Timothy Lee Smith, in Hammond, Indiana.

Together they shared nearly 56 years of marriage before his passing on May 3, 2026. She worked for several years as a Customer Service Representative for State Farm. Being raised as a preacher’s child, Becky learned early the value of faith, service, and devotion to God. She was a devoted member of the Baptist faith and lived a life that reflected her love for the Lord and for people. Becky found joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved reading, writing music and poetry. She enjoyed playing the piano and loved spending time with her kids and prayed for them daily. She also treasured the companionship of her beloved dog, Penny.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Beverly Hyles, and by her husband, Timothy Lee Smith.

She is survived by daughters, Trina Beebe and husband Steve of Kingston, and Teresa Joy Horton and husband Jon of Malvern, Arkansas; and son, Trent Jonathan Smith and wife Mitzi of Spicewood, Texas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Bethany Hayes, Bradley Beebe, Anthony Horton, Ashley Horton, AJ Horton, Andrew Horton, Mia Smith, Ella Smith, and Rowan Smith; three great-grandchildren, Jensen, Stevie, and Jackson; brother; David Jack Hyles and wife Brenda of Georgia sisters; Linda Murphrey of Oregon and Cindy Collins and husband Brad of Kingston

Though her earthly journey has ended, the legacy of her faith, love, and service will continue through the many lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.
