Aretha Theda Denny, 84, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill.  She was born on October 15, 1938, in Cotter, Arkansas to the late Author Tuttle Edgar and Macle Eva Hornbuckle Edgar.  She was raised in Kansas City, Missouri where she attended school.  Aretha married James Cud Denny on April 7, 1956, in Kansas City and he preceded her on June 20, 2010.  She lived in Del Rio, Texas, Indiana, and Oklahoma City before moving to Madill where she has lived for the past 56 years. Over the years Aretha worked as a medical aid for Brookside Nursing Center and Family Care Center.  She also worked as a waitress for Obies Café.  She was affiliated with the Oakview Baptist Church, and she enjoyed planting flowers in her flower beds and doing needle artwork.
