Anna Nell
Housley
February 2, 1937 – March 1, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anna Nell Housley, who went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2025, at the age of 88, with her daughter by her side. Anna was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and the embodiment of a servant's heart.
Born on February 2, 1937, in Marietta, OK, to Elbert Rush and Edith Mae Cox, Anna spent her life in steadfast love and dedication to her family and faith. On May 19, 1954, she married the love of her life, Billy Bob Housley, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion. As Bob pursued his military career, Anna stood faithfully by his side, adapting with grace and dedication to every new journey they embarked upon. They were blessed with two children, David Ray and Bobbye Nell, whom she cherished and nurtured with boundless love. She poured her soul into her husband and cared for him relentlessly until his death in 2016.
Anna completed her schooling in Ardmore before launching a successful career as an Executive Assistant across multiple companies and industries. However, her most treasured role was that of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. In 1992, she and Bob settled in Yukon to be closer to their growing family, creating cherished traditions that will live on for generations. One of the most beloved traditions was making pies before Thanksgiving, where she lovingly passed down her techniques and recipes to her grandchildren—who now share them with her great-grandchildren.
Anna always had a smile on her face, radiating warmth and kindness wherever she went. She had a passion for quilting, creating beautiful, handmade quilts that she lovingly gifted to her family and friends, her church, and, most especially, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each quilt she made was a reflection of her love—carefully chosen colors, thoughtfully placed patterns, and stitched with prayers and warm thoughts for those who would receive them. Her love for the Lord shined through in all she did. Whether through acts of kindness, words of encouragement, or steadfast prayers, she was a beacon of grace and compassion to everyone who knew her. Her life was a testament to selfless love, and she leaves behind a legacy of faith, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Edith Cox, and her siblings Irene, Betty, Vernon, Bill, and Joe. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Jean; her son, David Ray Housley; her daughter, Bobbye Nell DeWitte, and husband, Terry; her grandsons, David Lee DeWitte and wife, Madison, and Wesley Michael DeWitte and wife, Meredith. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren, Ava, Nora, Myles, Landon, and Amberlynn, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. While we grieve her loss, we find peace knowing she is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.
A celebration of Anna's life will be held on Friday, March 7th, at 10:00 AM at Bethal Community Church, 4901 N Sara Rd., Yukon, OK, followed by a private family graveside service at Provence Cemetery in Ardmore, OK.
Please send all flowers to Bethal Community Church.
