Obituary

Ambert Gale Harris was born on September 16, 1942, in the Marsden Community of Love County, OK, to Arlin and Lura (Ashcraft) Harris. He attended Meadowbrook School and later graduated from Turner High School in the Class of 1961. On June 28, 1963, Gale married the love of his life, Linda Mae Diggs, in Dallas, TX.

Gale served in the United States Army from 1965, enlisting in Ft. Polk, LA, until 1967, when he was honorably discharged in Germany. Upon returning from the service, Gale lived in the Dallas Metro area and worked for Omega Optical for several years. In 1976, Gale and Linda moved to Marietta, where he worked for Robertson's Hams until his retirement in 2000. In 2018, they relocated to the Denton, TX area, where they have resided since.

Gale was a devoted Christian and was raised in the Marsden Baptist Church and later raised his family at the First Baptist Church of Marietta. He was currently a member of the Southmont Baptist Church in Denton. Gale was well known for being a handy man who could fix anything and for his willingness to help others. Gale loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races, dirt track racing, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Texas Rangers. Known for his spirited debates, he passionately believed that Ford was the best automobile brand in the country.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Arlin Harris, Jr. and Earl Harris; and sisters, Barbara Foster and Fern Ellis. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda, of Denton; son, Todd Harris and wife Melissa of Little Elm, TX; daughter, Tonja Morgan and husband Kelly of Denton; grandchildren, Brett Harris and wife Alissa, Bryce Harris, Carson Lemmons, Trevor Lemmons, Micah Batton and husband Trevor, Justus Morgan and wife Carlen, Aarin Nelson and husband Aaron, Faith Morgan and fiancé Cole Wallace, and Isaac Morgan and wife Julia; great-grandchildren, Colter Harris, Brooklynn Batton, Dezzie Batton, Shepherd Nelson, and one on the way, Koa Lemmons; brothers, Dale Harris and wife Wanda of Marietta, OK and Joe Harris and wife Katie of Kennewick, WA. Gale was a devoted and loving father, finding immense joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers are Brett Harris, Bryce Harris, Carson Lemmons, Trevor Lemmons, Justus Morgan, and Isaac Morgan. Honorary bearers are Trevor Batton, Aaron Nelson, Cole Wallace, Kent Harris, and Kevin Harris.
