Alfred Leslie Shipman, 79 of Mannsville, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was born on May 27, 1935 in Mounds City, Illinois to the late Andrew Lidge Shipman and Edith Dell McAlister Shipman. He lived in Lubbock and later in Houston, Texas before moving to Mannsville in 1996 where he lived the rest of his life. Alfred married Florence Lee Short on May 28, 1960 in Lubbock. She preceded him in death on December 25, 2008. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mannsville and he enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is survived by: Sons: Ron Berry, Hackettstown, New Jersey Les Shipman, Anderson, Texas Andy Shipman, Owasso, Oklahoma 9 Grandchildren 6 Great Grandchildren Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 daughter; Tammy Shipman, 1 son; Billy Ray Howard, 1 brother; Andrew Shipman and 1 sister; Eileen Bise.
