Martha Ruby Franks, 81 of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Houston, Texas. She was born on June 25, 1933 in Madill, Oklahoma to the late John Tumey and Lillie Mandy Echols Tumey. Martha was raised in Grandfield, Oklahoma and attended school in Loveland, Oklahoma. She married Charles Edward Franks on September 2, 1950 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2004. She worked as a bookkeeper for 38 years at Davidson, Frederick and Grandfield Cotton Gins. After retiring she owned and operated a Mini Mart in Vernon, Texas for 4 years before moving to Enos in 1992.Martha was an active member of the Enos Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the bass guitar and singing. She also took pleasure in playing music with fellow church members for the Kingston and Madill nursing homes. Martha loved to crochet and make quilts, which she made with love for her children and grandchildren. Her favorite hobbies were reading and shoe shopping. She is survived by: Daughters: Martha Davis and husband Bill, Houston, Texas Mary Ann Beaton, Wauseon, Ohio Brother: Charles Tumey and wife Donna, Trail, Oregon Sister: Elizabeth Barfield, Rush Springs, Oklahoma 5 Grandchildren: Jacob Lee Franks and wife Ruth Martha Natasha Crownover and husband Scott William Charles Davis and wife Amanda John Alexander Beaton Samantha Jane Beaton 7 Great Grandchildren: Skye, Tennessee, William and Julia Franks Martha Makyala and Kendall Crownover Ryan Davis Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons; Edward Lee and Charles Lamoin Franks, 2 brothers: John David and Orvel Tumey, sister; Mary Jane Tumey, Son In-law; John Beaton.
