Biography
Charles Loyd Williams passed away peacefully on March 2, 2010 in Madill, Oklahoma. He was born October 22, 1934 in Coal County Oklahoma. He was the son of Curtis L. Williams and Gertie Mae (Crum) Williams. He attended school in Stockton, California and Coalgate, Oklahoma and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1952. While working at Convair in Ft. Worth, Texas, he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Bliss, Texas and Ft. Eustis, Virginia.
After completing his military obligations, he attended Oklahoma Baptist University. While attending OBU, he worked part-time as an agent for Farmers Insurance Group. His pert-time job developed into a 27 year career with Farmers in Oklahoma, Iowa, California and ended with his retirement in Ohio where he was Vice President and Regional Sales Manager of the Ohio, Indiana and Michigan Region.
After retiring from Farmers, he returned to Shawnee, Oklahoma and purchased Multi County Insurance Agency in 1985. In 1995, he sold the agency and retired to the Buncombe Creek area of Lake Texoma.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his father- and mother-in-law, Adolphus and Pearl Scott, his grandson Jack Menear, his granddaughter Joy Menear, his brother Jack Williams, his brothers-in-law Paul Magness and Ray Szypulski. He is survived by his wife Clara Rose (Scott) Williams of the home, his son Mark Williams and his wife Carol of Oklahoma City, his daughter Christina Skinner and her husband Gray of McKinney, TX, and his daughter Rebecca Leggins and her husband Richard of Branson, MO, granddaughters Katherine Kiley Vincent and Katie Rard of McKinney, TX, Cathey Cundiff and her husband Chad of Piedmont, OK and Amy Hinton and her husband Weston of Houston, TX, and grandsons Jonathan Menear and wife Christy of Branson, MO, and James Menear of Ozark, MO and great-grandchildren Marley Menear, Rain Menear, Hunter Menear, Charley Hinton and Cade Cundiff. He is also survived by his sisters Lavada Magness of Texarkana, AR and Faye Szypulski of Pine Knoll Shores, NC.
